Men's Group

"Helping men to grow in Christ, so others can know Christ."

The United Methodist Men support projects like Heart Havens which in part supplies housing for some of God's special children, with Downs Syndrome, local projects like "Rebuilding Together in Petersburg" where members work on household repairs for homes in Petersburg,  and participate in the "Upper Room Prayer Line" on the 3rd Sunday of the month, to name a few.  Their annual fundraiser dinners are enjoyed by many and their dedication to building Men of God is admirable.

We are a Christian group of men of all ages that meet regularly on the 2nd Sunday of every month by having a breakfast meeting at 8:00 AM.

                   Community Library

As a community project, the United Methodist Men of the Prince George Parish (Blandford, Salem, Gary’s) have put up a Little Free Library.  Gary’s was chosen as the site because of the visibility and accessibility.   It is our hope everyone will use it.  Take whatever you like.  We thought adding puzzles would be a nice touch in addition to books.  There’s room on the top shelf for paper backs primarily and maybe a puzzle.  Suggestions are welcome and appreciated.  The lower shelf will accommodate most books.

Please share the information with your friends, neighbors and family.

Attention Men of the Church

We plan to start this study this coming Sunday at 8:00 A.M. at Gary’s. We’ll do one lesson per month for six months.   This is a men’s study for men.  I hope to see you there. - Gene

Prepare for a paradigm-shifting view of biblical manhood.
Every man wants to succeed. But for so many, life seems to get in the way. We all have friends—good men, followers of Christ even—who start out well but before long, they’re failing at relationships, bending ethical standards, or driving
themselves so hard at work they’re losing the hearts of their wife and kids.

In The Real Win, Colt McCoy and Matt Carter wrestle deeply and personally with this challenge, then deliver down-to-earth, biblical answers. Based on their personal experiences and a close study of Scripture, McCoy and Carter show men:

• Why so much depends on who you trust and who you serve
• Why every man is called to lead and why every man can
• How to man up to temptation—and conquer it
• How to find the “win” even in your biggest failure

“The real win means trusting the Lord and walking with Jesus no matter what,” write Matt and Colt. “That kind of faithfulness is possible for any man who follows God with all his heart. No matter what circumstances threaten him, a faithful man is the most truly confident man in the room.”

Men's Retreat 2015

We had a great time on our retreat.  We went fishing, skeet shooting, watched "Do You Believe" and "When The Game Stands Tall".  We also had several devotions during the weekend.  Here are some of the pictures from that weekend.
